Election Holiday (Leave) for Employees on the Day of Poll

Election Holiday (Special Casual Leave) for Employees on the Day of Poll in Jharkhand

The Department of Personnel and Training issued a notification on granting of paid holiday to the employees on the day of poll due to General Election in Jharkhand.

As per the notification, the Election Commission of India, vide their letter No. ECI/PN /102/2019, dated 01. 11.2019, Schedule for General Election to the Legislative Assembly of Jharkhand is as under:

Phase-I 30.11.2019 Saturday
Phase-II 07.12 .2019 Saturday
Phase-III 12.12.2019 Thursday
Phase-IV 16.12.2019 Monday
Phase-V 20.12.2019 Friday

According to the guidelines issued in the OM (Dopt order No. 12/14/ 99-JCA, dated 10.10.2001) closure of Central Government Offices including the industrial establishments and grant of paid holiday to all the Government employees.

Special Casual leave on Bye-Election

In case of bye-election to Lok Sabha, State Assembly, only such of the employees who are bonafide voters in the relevant constituency should be granted special casual leave on the day of polling.

Special Casual leave may also be granted to an employee who is ordinarily a resident of a constituency and registered as a voter but employed in any Central Government Organization, Industrial Establishment located outside the constituency having a general or bye-election.
