Ad-hoc Bonus Calculation for CG Employees

  • The quantum of Non-PLB (ad-hoc bonus) will be worked out on the basis of average emoluments/calculation ceiling whichever is lower.
  • To calculate Non-PLB (Ad-hoc bonus) for one day, the average emoluments in a year will be divided by 30.4 (average number of days in a month). This will thereafter be multiplied by the number of days of bonus granted.

Bonus Calculation Formula of Central Govt Employees

(Monthly Emoluments x 30) / 30.4

To illustrate, taking the calculation ceiling of monthly emoluments of Rs. 7000 (where actual average emoluments exceed Rs. 7000), Non-PLB (Ad-hoc Bonus) for thirty days would work out to Rs. 7000 × 30 / 30.4 = Rs.6907.89 (rounded off to Rs.6908/-).

To determine the 78-day bonus in Railways, follow these steps:

1. Begin with the bonus allocation for this year, which is set at 78 days.
2. Calculate the ceiling amount, which is Rs. 7000 per month.
3. Multiply the ceiling amount by 12 months to obtain the total annual amount, resulting in Rs. 84000.
4. Determine the wage for one day by dividing the total annual amount by 365 days, resulting in Rs. 230.13.
5. Finally, multiply the daily wage by the number of bonus days (78) to obtain the final bonus amount of Rs. 17951.

    Dear Sir, Railway, Postal staffs are paid 78 and 60 days Bonus, but the men and women who safe guard our nation (Military and Para Military) are not given good Bonus than Railway and Postal. Do they do more work than the Military and Para Military personnel. Military and Paramilitary staff should be given more as they are not staying with families, and do work round the clock 24 X 7 to safe guard our nation.

    One of the employee joined service on October 04th 2018, and he didn’t get his bonus due to non completion of six months service. But as per Bonus order issued by government it is mentioned that ”
    Only those employees who were in service as on 31.3.2019 and have rendered at least six months of continuous service during the year 2018-19 will be eligible for payment under these orders. Pro-rata payment will be admissible to the eligible employees for period of continuous service during the year from six months to a full year, the eligibility period being taken in terms of number of months of service rounded off to the nearest number of months);

    as per last line of para “the eligibility period being taken in terms of number of months of service (rounded off to the nearest number of months).

    as the total service of above said employee comes 05 months and 26 days which can be rounded off to nearest number of month i.e. 06 month as per last line of the para. Hence he is eligible for getting bonus.

    Please clarify the matter
