CPI-AL and CPI-RL Increased in Nov 2023
In November 2023, there was an increase in the All-India Consumer Price Index Numbers for Agricultural and Rural Labourers (CPI-AL and CPI-RL). The CPI-AL rose by 12 points to reach 1253 points, while the CPI-RL increased by 11 points to stand at 1262 points. The main factor contributing to the overall index rise for both agricultural labourers and rural labourers was the food group, specifically due to higher prices of rice, wheat atta, pulses, onion, turmeric whole, garlic, mixed spices, and similar items.
It is worth noting that there was an upward trend in the index across all states except for West Bengal, where both CPI-AL and CPI-RL indices experienced a decrease. Similarly, Himachal Pradesh saw a decrease in the CPI-AL index.
The next issue of CPI-IW for December 2023 will be released on Wednesday, 31st January 2024. The same will also be available on the office website www.labourbureou.gov.in.
