Paripoorna Mediclaim Ayush Bima for CGHS Beneficiaries – Optional Health Insurance Plan: The Department of Financial Services (DFS), Ministry of Finance, has launched a new and enhanced health insurance product titled Paripoorna Mediclaim Ayush Bima. This optional insurance plan is designed exclusively for Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) beneficiaries and aims to complement existing CGHS facilities by expanding financial protection and access to advanced healthcare services.

This initiative strengthens the healthcare ecosystem for government employees, offering modern treatment options, wider hospital coverage and affordable premium-sharing choices.

Purpose of the Paripoorna Mediclaim Ayush Bima

The new insurance policy has been introduced to provide additional medical coverage beyond the standard CGHS benefits. With the rising cost of healthcare and demand for comprehensive treatments, this scheme empowers beneficiaries with:

  • Cashless treatment facilities
  • Coverage for modern medical procedures
  • AYUSH treatment coverage
  • Wider network of hospitals across India

Eligibility & Coverage

The Paripoorna Mediclaim Ayush Bima is available exclusively for CGHS beneficiaries. Eligibility guidelines include:

  • Maximum of six members per family policy
  • Indemnity-based in-patient hospitalization coverage across India
  • Two sum insured options: ₹10 Lakh or ₹20 Lakh
  • Co-payment options:
    • 70:30 co-sharing between insurer and beneficiary
    • 50:50 co-sharing for lower premium options

Key Features of the Paripoorna Mediclaim Ayush Bima

2. AYUSH Treatment Coverage

  • 100% coverage for AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Homoeopathy) in-patient treatments

3. Modern Treatment Coverage

  • Coverage for modern, advanced treatments up to 25% of sum insured
  • Optional rider available for 100% modern treatment coverage

4. Cumulative Bonus

  • 10% bonus of sum insured for every claim-free year
  • Up to a maximum of 100% cumulative bonus

5. Discounted Premium Structure

  • 28% discount on premium for 70:30 co-sharing
  • 42% discount on premium for 50:50 co-sharing

6. No GST – More Affordable

How the Plan Complements CGHS Benefits

While CGHS provides extensive health services, there are limitations related to room rent, modern treatments and hospitalization expenses. The Paripoorna Mediclaim Ayush Bima fills these gaps by offering:

  • Higher sum insured options
  • Better coverage for private hospital treatments
  • Cashless hospitalization across a wider network
  • AYUSH + Modern treatment combined protection

This dual protection ensures CGHS beneficiaries receive enhanced financial security and hassle-free access to quality healthcare nationwide.

Where to Purchase the Policy

The Paripoorna Mediclaim Ayush Bima will soon be available through:

  • New India Assurance Company Limited branch offices
  • New India Assurance’s official online platform

Beneficiaries will be able to purchase the policy directly without intermediaries, ensuring transparency and convenience.

The launch of the Paripoorna Mediclaim Ayush Bima marks a significant step toward strengthening the healthcare ecosystem for Central Government employees. By offering enhanced medical coverage, discounts, cashless facilities and expanded hospitalization options, this optional policy provides financial security, flexibility and peace of mind to millions of CGHS beneficiaries across India.

This initiative reflects the Government’s continued commitment to employee welfare and affordable, high-quality healthcare access.
