Kendriya Vidyalaya Age Limit Calculator for Balvatika and Class 1 Admission 2024-25

The date of birth of an applicant is a crucial requirement for enrolling into class 1 in any of the Kendriya Vidyalayas across India. The lowest permissible age is 6 years for the student to gain entry into the 1st grade in a Kendriya Vidyalaya. Even a single day’s difference in the age limit will not be accepted by the KVS admission portal and it will not proceed further. This portal has been exclusively set up for applying to Standard 1 in Kendriya Vidyalaya in India. Before starting the application form in the KVS Admission portal, parents can affirm the age eligibility of their child for class 1 in Kendriya Vidyalaya.

What is the age cutoff for a child applying to class 1?

The age limit for enrolling in grade one is set between six and eight years old as of April 01, 2024. Kids with disabilities have an extra two years of allowance, meaning the range of accepted birth dates for them is from April 1, 2016, to April 1, 2018. Otherwise, the accepted range of birthdates for children not considered “Differently-Abled” is between April 1, 2014 and April 1, 2018. Anyone who does not fit within these date ranges will not be eligible to sign up.

In line with the directives of the freshly approved ‘New Education Policy’, the Central Government has revised the age limits for admission into class 1 of all Kendriya Vidyalaya schools. Candidates have to be no younger than 6 and no older than 8 to apply for this level of schooling. To make it easier for parents, we have designed a free web-based utility that assesses the age-eligibility of your kid based on their date of birth. This instrument will let you know which academic year they are qualified to register in the entryway of KVS.

KVS Balvatika Age Eligibility Calculator 2024-25

Admission to Balvatika-I (Pre-Primary) at KVS requires children to have reached 3 years of age but not yet turned 4 by the cutoff date of April 1, 2024. For Balvatika-II (Pre-Primary), children should be 4 years old but not yet 5 by the same cutoff date. Regarding admission to Balvatika-III (Pre-Primary) in accordance with KVS guidelines, children must be between 5 and 6 years old as of April 1, 2024, with a 2-year age relaxation for “Differently Abled” applicants. Therefore, for the academic year 2024-2025, the permissible birth dates for non-“Differently Abled” applicants seeking admission to Balvatika-III are from April 1, 2017, to April 1, 2018, while for “Differently Abled” applicants, the range is from April 1, 2015, to April 1, 2018.

Date of Birth of Child as per Record

The date of birth of the child as per the record is a required piece of information. Enter the birthdate which is documented on the child’s birth certificate, issued by the appropriate authority. This data cannot be altered after the sign-up phase.

How to Upload DoB Certificate in the KVS Admission Portal

If the applicant’s date of birth falls outside of the specified range, they will not be able to complete the sign-up/registration process. A picture/scan of proof of date of birth must be uploaded to the online admission form (JPEG file of maximum size 256KB). It is recommended that applicants keep a copy of the scanned document ready. For admission to Std. 1, the proof of age should be a birth certificate issued by the relevant registration body. This could include certificates from the Notified Area Council, Municipality, Municipal Corporation, data from Village Panchayat, Military Hospital, and service records of Defense personnel. If a Vidyalaya provides provisional admission, the original certificate of date of birth must be presented at the time of admission. It will be returned after verification.
