Karnataka Govt DA Rate Chart 2025: Dearness Allowance is provided for Karnataka Government employees and pensioners to compensate for the price hike of essential commodities. All State Governments in India are following the same methodology as the Central Government in declaring Dearness Allowance to their employees! State Government has no separate calculation method for deciding the percentage of additional Dearness Allowance. After declaring the Dearness Allowance by the Central Government, almost all State Governments are following the same decision of their employees and pensioners.
The Government of Karnataka enhanced the Dearness Relief from the existing rate of 27.25% to 31% with effect from 1.7.2022 on revised basic pension/family pension to their pensioners/family pensioners. The revised DA rates also are applicable to the retired employees who were on the UGC/AICTE/ICAR Scale of Pay.

Calculation Method
Dearness Allowance is calculated based on the All India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (AICPI-IW). The formula used is:
DA = (Average AICPI-IW for 12 months – 261.42) × 100 / 261.42
The DA is revised twice a year – in January and July – based on the average AICPI-IW of the preceding six months.
4 Types of DA Orders in Karnataka:
The employees of Karnataka are divided into four categories, with each category receiving distinct directives concerning the revision of the Dearness Allowance. The revision of the Dearness Allowance rates applicable to the officers of the State Judicial Service, based on the 2016 Revised NJPC Pay Scales, will be effective from 01-01-2025, with an adjustment from 53% to 55%. The revision of the Dearness Allowance rates for teaching staff and those in equivalent positions, according to the 2016 revised UGC/ICAR/AICTE pay scales, will also take effect from 01-01-2025, with an increase from 53% to 55%. Additionally, the revision of the Dearness Allowance rates will be effective from 01-01-2025, with a change from 45.25% to 46.75%.

The provided table displays the updated pay scale percentages for regular Karnataka government teachers under UGC, ICAR, and AICTE. The current rate of Dearness Allowance for Karnataka teachers is 38% of the basic salary.
