States and Capitals of India
India is the seventh-largest country and the 2nd most populous country in the world. It is located on the South Asian continent. The Republic of India is the official name of the country. The country is ruled by parliamentary democracy. It becomes very difficult to manage a vast country from one place. As a result, the Constitution of India empowers the Central Government to make the States feel relevant. Our India is divided into 28 states and eight union territories. Indian states and capitals are shown in the table below.

Union Territories of India: The difference between union territories and states is that union territories are directly governed by the union government, whereas states have their own administrative authority.
