How to Apply for EWS Certificate Online
In pursuance of the insertion of clauses, 15(6) and 16 (6) in the constitution of India vide the Constitution (one Hundred and Third Amendment) Act, 2019 in order to enable the Economically Weaker Sections (EWSs) who are not covered under the existing scheme of reservations for the Scheduled Castes. The Scheduled Tribes and the Socially and Educationally Backward Classes, too received the benefits of reservation on a preferential basis in civil posts and services in the Government of India and admission in Educational institutions Government of India has notified to provide 10 % reservations to EWSs in Central Government post and services and for admission in an educational institution.
Form-XII – Income Assets EWS – Certificate to be Produced by Economically Weaker Sections
An applicant does not own or possess any of the following assets:
- 5 acres of Agriculture land and above
- Residential flat of 1000 sq. ft. and above
- Residential plots of 100 sq. yards and above in notified municipalities
- Residential plots of 200 sq. yards and above in areas other than the notified municipalities.
Note-1: Income covered all sources i.e. salary, agriculture, business, profession, etc.
Note-2: The term “Family” for this purpose includes the person who seeks the benefit of reservation, his/her parents and siblings below the age of 18 years as also his/ her spouse and children below the age of 18 years.
Note-3: The property held by a “Family” in different locations or different places/ cities has been clubbed while applying the land or property holding test to determine EWS status.
