Employment Generation in FPI
As per the latest Annual Survey of Industries (ASI), 2014-15, Central Statistics Office, Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation, the total number of registered food processing units (factories) is estimated at 38,603.
Based on the Annual Survey of Industries for the years from 2004-05 to 2014-15 conducted by the Central Statistics Office, Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation, the estimated employment generated in registered food processing units (factories) is given at Annexure. Further, as per the 67th round survey of National Sample Survey Office (NSSO), Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation on ‘Unincorporated Non-agricultural Enterprises (Excluding Construction)’ conducted in 2010-11, the estimated number of persons engaged in unincorporated enterprises in the manufacture of food products and beverages is 47.92 lakhs.
