What is special about Ekadashi?

Which days are Ekadashi?

There are two Ekadashis in a month, one during the waxing phase of the moon (Shukla Paksha) and one during the waning phase of the moon (Krishna Paksha). The Ekadashi that falls during the waxing phase is known as Devotthan Ekadashi and the one that falls during the waning phase is known as Papamocani Ekadashi.
