Consumer Price Index (IW) 2016=100 for April 2023
The latest AICPIN for the month of April 2023 has been released by the Labour Bureau. The Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (2016=100) is calculated every month by the Labour Bureau, which is an attached office of the Ministry of Labour and Employment. Prices are collected from 317 markets in 88 industrially important centres across the country to compile the index.
The index is released on the last working day of the succeeding month for All-India and 88 centres. The index for April 2023 is being released in this press release. The All-India CPI-IW for April 2023 has increased by 0.9 points, reaching 134.2. This represents a 0.68% increase over the previous month’s percentage change, compared to a 1.35% increase in the corresponding months a year ago.
