AICPIN (All India Consumer Price Index Number) for the month of May 2021 – Press Release PDF Download
AICPIN is the key statistical index for calculating the Dearness Allowance for Government employees in India. DA (Dearness Allowance) is being provided for tackling the price hike of essential commodities. The Central and State Government employees, pensioners, and family pensioners are eligible for DA (Dearness Allowance) and DR (Dearness Relief). DA is hiked once in six months according to the variation of AICPIN.
The statistical index of AICPIN for the month of May 2021 will be published by the Labour Bureau [labourbureau.gov.in] on 30th June 2021.

Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (2016=100) – May 2021
The Labour Bureau, an attached office of the M/o Labour & Employment, has been compiling Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers every month on the basis of retail prices collected from 317 markets spread over 88 industrially important centres in the country. The index is compiled for 88 centres and All-India and is released on the last working day of the succeeding month. The index for the month of May 2021 is being released in this press release.
The All-India CPI-IW for May 2021 increased by 0.5 points and stood at 120.6 (one hundred twenty and point six). On 1-month percentage change, it increased by 0.42 per cent with respect to the previous month compared to an increase of 0.30 per cent recorded between corresponding months a year ago.
