How to calculate annual increment in 7th CPC?

The 7th pay commission has modified the calculation method of annual increment for Central Government employees with effect from 1st January 2016. The 7th Pay Panel had been recommended in its report regarding the annual increment is very clear that there was no calculation. The pay committee said, to check the annual increment in the pay matrix table according to the level. The below example is shown very clear how is calculated annual increment for CG staff after 7th pay commission:

If an employee’s basic salary is Rs. 21500 in the pay level 1 (Index cell no. 7). If he eligible for annual increment with effect from 1st July 2020, his basic salary will be fixed as Rs. 22100 in the same pay level (Index cell no. 8).
