TASMAC Shop Holidays in Jan 2024
In the month of January 2024, there are three significant holidays that affect the operation of TASMAC liquor retail shops, recreation clubs, bars, and TASMAC godowns in Tamil Nadu. These holidays are marked by the closure of all such establishments. The first closure occurs on January 16, which is Tiruvalluvar Day, a day dedicated to celebrating the great Tamil poet and philosopher Tiruvalluvar. It is a day of reverence and reflection on his profound teachings and contributions to Tamil literature and philosophy. The second closure takes place on January 25, which is the Vadalur Ramalingar memorial day. This day honors the spiritual leader Ramalingar, who dedicated his life to spreading messages of spirituality and social reform. His teachings continue to inspire and guide many. On the auspicious occasion of Mahavir Jayanti Day on 21.04.2024 (Sunday), a directive has been issued to close all Tasmac liquor retail outlets and allied outlets in Chennai district. This decision aims to respect and honor the significance of these special days while promoting a sense of restraint and observance within the community. Similarly, on 01.05.2024 (Wednesday) on the occasion of May Day, these establishments will also remain closed, ensuring that the spirit of both celebrations is upheld and embraced by all.
