Sub:Provision of i-ticket facility for Defence Travel System.
With a view to phase out the defence warrant System, the Defence Travel System for Defence Forces was started in 2009 through the e-ticketing portal of IRCTC.Following issues have been raised by the contrlller General of Defcnce Accounts(CGDA):
(i) Auto-cancellation of fully waitlisted e-tickets.
(ii) Non-booking of tickets during first thirty minutes of opening of reservation.
2.The issues raised have been examined and it has been decided to provide the facility of booking of i-tickets for defence personnel on the Defence Travel System. The I-ticket will be printed only once. The I-ticket can be collected by the defence personnel at the journey origination ststion by submitting the authority for collection of i-ticket(i.e receipt of i-ticket for defence travel system)along with a photocopy of any one of the ten prescribed proofs of identity allowe for undertaking journey on e-tickets.if some other person collects the ticket on behalf of defence personnel, then he/she must produce any one of the ten prescribed proofs of identity in original to establish his/her identity along with photocopy of any one of the ten prescribed proofs of identity proof of defence personnel. The format of receiptto be given by the Defence personnel while collecting the i-ticket from the Railway counter is enclosed herewith.
2.1 It has also been decided that the restriction for booking tickets during first thirty minutes of opening of reservation applicable to other e-ticketing agents will not be applicable to tickets booked against warrants by defence personnel.
3. It is further clarified that with the defence Travel System now being integrated with Next Generation e-Ticketing system(NGeT) if the tickets booked prior to integration to NGet System have to be cancelled, the same is to be doen in the old system, since the booking data is not avalable in the NGeT.This is a transitory problem which will not occur once old tickets are phsed out in normal course on account of travel or cancellation.
Neccessary instructions be issued to all concerned to clarify the above decisions.
