I am an Hony Sub Major, what it should be called is a mockery. No financial benefits or nothing else, they (the Record Office) sent me a Certificate granting the rank which is sleeping somewhere in house.

I AM UNABLE TO UNDERSTAND WHY THE GOVT. HAS NOT YET IMPLEMENTED AS ON DATE OROP, IN SPITE OF PASSING IN LOK SABHA AS WELL AS IN THE RAJYA SABHA.

TO BE CONSIDERED AS TOTAL FAILURE OF IMPLEMENTATION FOR THE SOLDIERS, WHO HAVE /ARE SACRIFICING THEIR LIFE FOR THE SAFETY AND SECUTIY OF THE COUNTRY.

I HAVE A DUE RESPECT TO THE PRESENT GOVT. AND THEIR EFFORTS FOR DEVELOPING THE NATION.

THIS FORMULA IS VERY SIMPLE. TO IMPLEMENT OROP AS PER THEIR LAST RANK AND NO. YEARS SERVICE RENDERED.

GOVT MUST EXECUTE IT WITHOUT ANY FURTHER DELAY. IF THEY CALL ME, I AM READY TO HELP THEM.

    WITH BEST REGARDS.

I m not considered for the purpose of OrOp scheme hence my basic pension remains unchanged to RS 15465 whereas as per OrOp table no 7 it is supposed to be fixed for rs 16160.why it is so.
As per clause all retirees before 01jan 2016 should b paid average Pension of year 2013 n arrears may b paid wef 01jul2014.kindly issue instructions to include me in or op scheme otherwise I having retired recently Will b drawing less. Pension to pre retirees which is contrary to the rules.

One Rank One Pension – Projected OROP Table PBOR is not being shown in this site whereas for officers it is reflected. Earlier projected OROP for PBOR also less than the clivilian scale of pension. Revision of pension payment order for Pre-2006 pensioners case should be solved at the earliest. In revised pension fitment table – at a glance it shows IF, BP-FOR PRE-2006 6100 BP with DP comes to 9150 and Revised Consolidated Pension comes to 13783. Hence OROP has to be changed comparison with Revised Pension Fitment Table – At Glance. We many of the Pre-2006 pensioners are waiting to see the pension structure as early as possible. Anomalies of pension fixation in OROP is not acceptable.

    Dear All,
As far as OROP is concerned, I feel it’s a big Mess. Govt do not want to implement and pay to Armd Forces Pensioners thinking burden on the Exchequer.
I feel for one and all India do not want Military. Fine. Disband Army, Navy and airforce establishments and sell away the lakhs of acres of cantonment lands for high prices. The Capital Gains thus got may either be used for common cause or selfish Gains upto the Govt will n wish. When, Military
Thus abolished, there will be only civil bodies for entire administration. Last but not the least, No Military N OROP and No Pay Commissions!

I am highlighting general point firstly service increasing but orop not increasing. One example, as per table No 7, OROP of a NK having 15 years of service is Rs 7170/- and NK having service 28 years orop is same ie Rs 7170/-. This type of irregularities with all ranks orop. Table prepared blindly no method is adopted. Another point terms of engagement of a Sub Maj shown in the circular 555 & 547 is 33 years, if he honoured with Hony Lt then his terms of engagement is reduced to 33 years which is highly injustice as there is no increase/decrease on becoming Hony Lt. This is done only to stop the pension at Rs 16090/-. Now days Sub Maj may serve upto 34 years. This requiring amendment in the circular so that Hony Lt may take advantage upto 34 years of service.

    Dear Sir,
It pains me lot to see that there is no mention of Hony Sub Majors anywhere either in the projection of OROP or in any other proposal of Indian Army. All Honourary Ranks except Hony Subedar Major in the profile of P.B.O.R have been granted financial benefits. Will anyone ever think to do the justice to the veterans granted the rank of Hony Sub Maj after retirement like other PBOR enjoying the financial benefit of honourary ranks.?

Now that the PCDA Circular 555 is in hand, we can see how the Koshiyari committee report has been diluted step by step at every stage in the last 240 days. Every one started their own ingenuity and incorporated their own version of OROP. The DESW and the Circular 555 are with new clauses incorporated in the later, and the farmer was drafted with no thought to the other PCDA Circulars of the past. The DESW made the charts by cooking up the figures at the will of the section officers and babus. Over all this, the PM and the DM are gloating over it as an achievement by their government. It is time to give Padma awards to all who participated in formulating the OROP tables saving the government a bug chunk of public funds. The veterans are left to their usual plight high and dry.

When ₹277 is pension for one year then for 17,18,19,Years (there Years pension pension figar r same at the same time for a Captain of19 years it has increase as per yearly increase, henceforth pbor r specially cheated by pension calculating official. This anomaly should be corrected .I notice abovementioned in case of SNCO, s Air Force SNCO Army and Petty officer of Indian Navy.Rs277 is BASIC of one year.

Maj (retd) S K Jain and Sqn Ldr (retd) Charanjit Singh Released these tables in 2013 well before the 7 CPC was instituted or the OROP movement was considered by the Nation and the present government. Reproducing it doesn’t make sense. If you got any fresh data on OROP for veterans of all ranks after 07 Nov 2015, then come out with details.

Please increase the pay of Hony Sub Major because they Because all Hony Rank like Hony Nb/sub, Hony Lt, Hony capt got the salary of their rank why not Hony Sub Major got the pension of Sub Major.

Secondly . There is no option to get job after the retirement of sub/ Sub Major .For this you may concerned with all district welfare officer.May get the survey report from them.

Thirdly. At the age of 48 year there is many responsibility like Higher education of the children ,their marriage and build a house .

Fourthly. There is no official body like Ex-servicemen commission like SC,ST, OBC Commission who look after their basic need. There should be separate commission who think all over the condition of the very Indian soldier .

When ever demand of PBOR raised it rejected by the Higher authority. Because they got sufficient salary and other benefit..

Family pension should be full pension as when ex servicemen died . His wife was alone and even she does not pull the basic need of her child.like education, marriage, house etc. So the family pension should be full pension.

    Dear’ All Veterans!

1-I want produced major anomalies in regard of OROP ‘Which notification has already been issued by MoD GoI in month of Nov-2015. It could not explain of One Rank One Pension irrespective a same length of service rendered by Ex Army personnel’s. The definition of OROP in three methodologies

2- One Rank 2- One Pension-‘3 Irrespective a length of service rendered by individuals’ and nor explained in Definition of OROP. I have already wrote
the comments a few days ago in regard this subjected’ Govt / CDAP’ Yet not been issued and published the Circular along with (Matrix table for the purpose of publicized in public domain) of OROP by PCDAP Allahabad . NDA Govt has badly been replaced the condition and definition of OROP’ Hence’ we could not say and Explain ‘One Rank One Pension’ Just you say it hiked the salary Once more like this as a UPA Govt.

3- The Formula has p repaired by MoD bureaucrat in direction of RM/FM for the purpose of controlling of Fund and budget and’ Matrix table has already been completed 10 days ago’ But yet not issued officially in public domain. I want produce’ for comparison projected ‘Matrix table ‘which had prepared been during the tenure of UPA in year of April-2014’ And now has been made by CDAP in tenure of NDA govt in year of Dec-2015.

4-As per OROP matrix table pension scale a 15 years of Nk ‘X’ Group has fixed Rs 8075 instead’ Y’ Group of Nk Rs 7210 only the deference amount in same length of service Rs 865 only between X & Y Group.

5-As per OROP matrix table pension scale a 15 years of ‘Nk ‘X’ Group has fixed Rs 8075 instead’ Y’ Group of Nk Rs 7210 only the difference amount in Same length of service Rs 865 only between X & Y Group.

6- The ‘Y’ Group of Nk along with 20 years of service’ has nor hiked been from Rs 7210 only, i would say (Fixed) ‘But in same length of service as a NK of ‘X’ Group has Much’ much hiked Rs 8070 to Rs 9305 only in four years of service ‘Which has hiked been Rs 1265 only than ‘Y’ Group Nk in same length of service in 20 years.

7- The X’ Group of Nk irrespective 22 years maximum length as a service have hiked been Rs 8070 to Rs 9305′ Instead same Rank holder of ‘Y’ Group’ irrespective same length 22 years of service Rs 7210 to Rs 7418 only Rs 208 only hiked ‘Than X Group of NK Rs ‘1265’ in same length of service between X & Y Group.

8-The X’ Group of Nk irrespective 22 years maximum length as a service has hiked been Rs 8070 to Rs 9305′ Than same Rank holder of ‘Y’ Group’ irrespective same length 22 years of service Rs 7210 to Rs 7418 only Rs 208 only hiked ‘Than X Group of NK Rs ‘1265’ in same length of service between X & Y Group. Most important X Group of Nk along with 22 years Maximum qualifying service would get Rs 9305 instead’ Y’ Group of Nk render same length of service 22 years More difference between both of Rs 1887 only.

9- In view of the above there had not been attention of authorities of PCDAP Allahabad at a time preparing and calculation of pension chart average of Minimum & Maximum a base years of -2013.

    Conclusion-
There are no doubts Pension account Group of (PCDA) Allahabad calculating chart of Pension under (OROP) scheme in direction of MoD /RM for the purpose of controlling of fund. But after view of pension chart’ we found critical anomalies’ which has calculated by senseless persons between X& Y Group of NK . Hence’ We it’ could say ‘One Rank Two Pension’’ as per group wise. One person in same rank irrespective same rendered length of service’ would get TWO PENSION as per Group Wise.

    [12:11PM, 22/12/2015] ‪+91 98735 52560‬: Lt Gen Baljit Singh (retd) has narrated an incident in following words;

Closer to our times, my mind goes back to one among the several mega-celebrations organised in the UK in 1995 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the end of WW-II. It was appropriate that the Indian contingent to the celebrations would include soldiers decorated with the Victoria Cross (VC), the foremost British award for gallantry on the battlefield. Of the 32 Indian awardees of the VC during the war, only 11 were alive in 1995.

Four VC veterans could not undertake the journey to the UK due to age and infirmness, but the remaining seven were glad to participate. Of these, the six doughty Gorkha veterans had various grades of flab around their midriffs but the seventh, Subedar Major (Honorary Captain) Umrao Singh, over six-foot tall, of ram-rod stance, flat bellied and broad chested, became the cynosure of all eyes. The way he walked up to Queen Elizabeth in the Audience Hall of Buckingham Palace, any drill sergeant-major from the Coldstream Guards Brigade would have been envious. Little wonder that breaking precedence of ceremonial etiquette, the gathering burst into spontaneous applause!

The following day when Prime Minister John Major happened to drive past some invitees and from the corner of his eye caught the sun glinting on their VC medals, the Prime Minister had his car halt. Walking up to the veterans, he saluted and greeted each with a firm handshake. In the UK, if a man (nationality notwithstanding) with a VC or MC pinned on the chest were to walk out, chances are that nine out of 10 passersby would halt mid-stride, smile and nod in salutation. In India, even though righteous wars and warriors have been glorified by the gods through the epic Mahabharata, yet not one in a thousand Indians will know what a PVC, MVC or VrC looks like, leave alone greet its bearer.

Dismissing his car, John Major escorted them to the venue of the function. Striking a conversation, he inquired if the veterans had any hardships that needed attention. Umrao Singh was prompt to state that although the prevalent currency exchange rate was Rs 50 to a pound, yet the VC pension handed out to them was at the paltry exchange rate of 1945. He asked, would it not be fair to revise their pension, which was last fixed in 1945, and bring it on a par with their counterparts in the UK? John Major was visibly upset at the injustice and promised that Her Majesty’s Government would rectify it.

Six months later in March 1996, Christopher Thomas, South Asia correspondent of The Times (London), drove to Umrao Singh’s home at Palra village (Jhajjar district, Haryana) with the news that Her Majesty’s Government had enhanced their VC pension from 100 pounds per annum to 1,300 pounds! And it would be admitted at that day’s prevailing currency exchange rate or a subsequent rate, whichever was higher, but never lower than that day’s!

Obviously, Umrao Singh was astounded at this windfall. He rushed to his wife who was frying “parathas” on a wood fire and declared, “Vimla, now we can live in style.” Umrao Singh brought out an unopened bottle of rum. He filled two large steel tumblers almost to the brim. Handing one to Christopher and holding his own in the left hand, Umrao came to attention, and giving a smart salute said, “This is for John Major, the Prime Minister of Britain! He has made me happy and proud.” He could now pass his allotted days with the dignity due to a VC. He passed away on November 22, 2005.
[12:11PM, 22/12/2015] ‪+91 98735 52560‬: I had read the article by Lt Gen Baljit Singh (retd ) in Tribune. I had preserved the article in order to share the transcript with my wife, friends & Children. He was the Sqn Cdr affiliated to 20 GRENADIERS in one of the op alerts way back in mid 80s. That not withstanding, the article left me with mixed feelings, as it throws up the glaring contrast in leadership quotient in British & Indian Political system. Seen in the background of OROP agitation our Political leadership has put up a dismal show. Time for military leadership to stand up & be counted for the sake of the Country & honour of our brave Soldiers, Airmen & Sailors & their families who have sacrificed their today for our Tomorrow.
Incidentally Hav Umrao Singh, VC , who hails from village Palra, Jhajjhar also happens to be the village / district of Father (retd Hony Capt ) of present COAS Gen Dalbir Singh Suhag.
It was at the Jhajjhar exservicemen rally where the Hon PM promised the gathering of exservicemen OROP.
Coincidence of JAJJHAR is ironical indeed.

I want submission of few lines for great kind consideration in the regard of above concerns blog. As per 5th CPS Disability Element had PROVED in two category by GOI’ who had prepared are recommended by our officers. Rs 1550 only for 100% Disability for JCO/Ors and for our officers Rs 2650 approximately. That times 70 to 75% was moreover to for our officers ‘ than JCO/Ors. As per 6th CPC Rs 1550 had increased up to Rs 3510 only lightly moreover two times for ors’ And for our officers had hiked been Rs 27000 only on proved disability 100% ‘Much’ much’ over to 10 times hiked than JCO/ORS. Who will see the anomalies of Poor jawan’ Who are fighting to for officers and the our nation. The same manner our officer has raised the complaint to Mr RM for the bridging the gap to counterpart of IAS/IPS in connection of Allowance been see the anomalies of our poor veterans.

Note- Disability Element” is depend up on affected of body’ who would be affected to the physical capacity by Sickness / Injured during the period of service’ The sickness/ injured could not be come to the only officers. The part of body may be damaged to same as a officers J CO /Ors. Hence The ‘Disability Element should not been different between one rank to another rank’ Why should not been ”Fixed lump -sum” in similar to all rank’ The Factual of this reason Service Element / Service Pension are depend upon Rank wise Irrespective length of service. ? Then why should Different Disability Element as per rank wise ‘Due to Service Element /Pension are entitled as per all designate holder as per designation Hence should. Stop further in future and treat it each& every personnel’s in same manner in connection of Disability Element. G.S UPADHAY GM-WORKS ALLD TATA 9670210000

Every calculation for our fixation of pay and pension was done by the people who are not having the knowledge of hardship and round o clock duty bounded service of the soldiers. Eventhough they must be posted to end of northeastern sectotor , Rajasthan during summer and Siachen Glaciers during the war practice. Then only these peoples will realise our natural position. If any soldiers will go to these peoples table they replied that you were served for the nation with salary.

Majors were the worst suffers and had been given raw deal by VIth pay commission. An Officer had to serve for 12 years to become Major before 2003, and 18 years to Lt. Col. that too all Officers were not granted the rank of Lt. Col. After 2003 an Officer became Major after rendering 6 years of service and automatically granted Lt. Col. after serving for 13 years and most of them became Colonel after serving for 18 years. During 1996-97, there were many Majors who retired and were drawing salary of Lt. Col. with increments in their salary as they were Engineers. Number of such Majors may be very few. Justice should be meted out to them also while calculating OROP or by VIIth pay Commission.

This is high time for Govt to seriously implement OROP. The peace talk with neighboring countries is not the assurance of safety of nation against surprise attack. Every soldier understands that one day he has to retire when children would be entering in to school. The OROP will keep his moral high even while serving nation. People eye on the allowances of the soldier, but forget to understand risks and hardships.

In the recent news papers, we found that the new pension (OROP) payment will start commencing from Jan 2016, but still the OROP tables are not ready. And also, single man (Mr. Narsimha Reddy) is appointed as a single man judicial committee who will submit a report on the anomalies within six months. This is all confusing, whether the new pension payment will commence or we need to wait for more six months until Narsimha Reddy submits a report. Also the news paper refers that the first installment of arrears will be paid in Mar 16. Can any one throw a light on these issues?

If it was not to be implemented then why the Govt carries in public rallies. Do they think that without implementing OROP they can finalise 7th CPC, if so, hopefully they r wrong nd will have to face dare consiquencies.

Recently on orders of Hon’ble SC of India, Arrears of Pension to Ex/Men have been granted wef 01 jan 2006 instead of 24 Sep 2012. A very good step for ex/men and will provide them not only monetary benefit but will boost their ‘moral’ also. But in between it has come to notice that policy on payment of arrears …. for Ex/officers arrears have been paid in one installment while for the lower rank same has been fixed for 04 installments . 7th cpc has allowed 14.3% increase on present pay plus expected Da of 6% from next January ,thus ( 2.19+6)X1.143= 2.57
But we feel this increase of 14.3 if applied on present pay and then 6% da from January , accordingly multiplying factor comes ( 2.19 x 1.143) x 1.06 = 2.65 hence multiplying factor to ne raised to minimum 2.65 for all levels uniformly.

7th cpc has adopted multiplying factors ranging from 2.57 to 2.82 to compute minimum pay at Darius levels. It is discrimination.. For uniformity a common factor of around 2.82 to be adopted for all levels.

It is seen from the projected table of PBOR that basic pension of Hony Lt stepped up i.e., 17130 those retire after completion of 37 years service whereas maximum service of Sub Maj & Hony Lt/ Capt is of 34 years. Thus there would be no benefit to this Hony rank. On the other hand, pay and allces of Hony Lt/Capt is at par with regular officer in the CPC VI.. Therefore, pension should be equal to the regular officer. Please examine the issue..

Once again Govt has shown that it does not care about early retirement issue of Defence personnel. By granting OROP for all including civilians who mostly serve till 60 years. Defence persons retire much earlier thereby natural increments which they would have got had they served till 60 years are denied to them leading to much lower pension, to compensate this higher weightage was given to them till 1973 and same should be restored as if this is not done the defence forces will remain unattractive for the youth and only monkeys will join as they are paid peanuts. What will happen in full fledged war only time will tell and may become too expensive. We must learn from history and see why we remained slaves of handful persons in past hundreds of years.

I served IAF for 15 years and 10 months. Pension eligibility is 16 years-JWO(Gr.1).
How much would be my basic pension under the OROP?
    Recently(on 09.11.15) I got Rs.10999 in my pension account.
I spoke to a friend of mine who had 15 years service and retired as Sgt. He got 20999 in his account.
    What does this mean?

It’s unfortunate that our brother exserviceman are again on the road to protest. As far as PBOR is concerned they are going to get nothing in comparison to officers. If they could not fight for Jawans while in service how one can expect from them after retirement. They serve for 57/60 years and want OROP on the name of PBOR mostly who discharged from service between 35 to 40 years.

Govt did best what another govt even not ready to listen since last 40 years…….Yes if you have queries put before the commission so likely to be appointed….Burning of medals by veterans is not only unfortunate but shame to them as well.

While preparing the table for fixation of orop govt has to be fair for pbor vis-a-vis the retd officers. No question of massive disparity, as is prevailing in service, because majority of the defence tasks are being handled by only pbor and this community are not fed in spoons/ensconced. This is more so in these days where the life leading articles are. coastlier and a pbor drawing lessor pension say 10,000/- has to pay say rs 40/- per a kg of rice and the same is the price of rice for others drawing say 50,000/- as pension

    Honorable PMO
No reason found that why the government is not equalizing pension of the personnel those have came on discharge on the approval of the government due to any trouble/home trouble after completing the pensionable service , even up to this day they are getting the pension benefit according to the range of service and length of rank . It seems totally a injustice in favor of them by the government in this notification of the OROP where as it has announced by the PMO of India in earlier days . Is this the prestige of the PMO of India than how we can believe on the other wording of the PMO ?

Though I was Group I AC, I was given the pension benefit of Group II CPL. As per retirement benefits, I am eligible for Group I AC pension benefits only.

Now as per the new pcda Cir No.501 dt.17.01.2013 the revised basic pension of Group I AC is Rs. 6,182/- per month, whereas the pension of Group II CPL is Rs. 5362/- per month. I request you to kindly clarify that am I entitled for Group I A.C.pension. Expecting your earlier reply.

    Dear Mr. bbs manian,

As you stated that you joined service in 1975 and left in 1985, in this regards you must know the earlier policy was for 10 years service without pension., as the matter of officer’s they are also not eligible for pension in 10 years of service, let me clear your further doubts. The officer’s joining for short service they are called “Short service commission” (SSC) and they are also not eligible for pension in 10 years of service, who told you that SSC officer’s are eligible for pension. I hope they are not eligible. But when the SSC officer’s feel much comfortable in defence service then they start requesting for extending there service and if they granted the same and will complete the 20 years of service then they are eligible for pension. I hope so. Still if you got further clarification on this subject you can ring up to concerned authority.

    Thanks & Regards

Dear Mr. bbs manian, Refer your comments dated 12th Oct 2015 at 5:26 PM. You are saying that Indian Naval Sailors are leaving service in 10 years, who is leaving in 10 years, can you tell that when did you join navy and when did you retired.

There are very clear orders, when you are joining navy as a Sailors (SSR & MER) you are signing for 15 years not for 10 years, because 15 years is the pensionable service. So please don’t pass any wrong comments on this web site, you may left navy in 10 years without pension.

As the matter of (OROP) this is only beneficial to officer’s not for “Personnel below officer’s Rank” (PBOR). I hope you have seen the (OROP) table on this web site, if not please go through it.

Sir, (Note:- Posted after some change in the last paragraph)
It is shown by the implementation of OROP that Gov’t has made two lobbies of the old and new pensioners ie 2014 & 2015 . NO decision relating 50% DA to merge in the BASIC pension is taken . Even the period shown of the arr ers in the Chart is not comprehended by any one . Is that from 01-01-2006 to 01-09-2012 (apprx) or from 01-01-2009 to onward 01-09-2012 (Apprx) as viewed in the table . Kindly clarify all the details in the agenda of the OROP to wash our mind from the ir regularties .

The OROP issue is being blown out of proportions by ex service men particularly officers up to the rank of Maj Gen. The delay on the part of govt is but natural and the process is evolving one. We must understand the nuances of OROP before sympathising or agreeing with ex service men. Let every body know that the Chief of all defence forces and senior Army Cdrs ( some %age of Lt Gen, Air Marshals, Vice Admirals ) are already in the apex scale of pay hence eligible for OROP. The game is played very cleverly and cunningly by civil servants. All those drawing apex scales are entitled for OROP and for the information of readers of this page, all IAS qualifies for the apex scale and automatically get OROP irrespective of year of retirement.

Now question arises, who should be compensated in OROP concept? It should be those who retire early ( ORs rank up to Hav. Although they are also provided reservation in govt jobs. Isn’t that a compensation). Why should JCO and Officers be provided OROP as they serve for more than 20 years and retire eventually after 50 years. Many CPMFs soldiers and civilian employees retire after 20 years. They are left by the govt to fend for themselves. As regards to Army personnel, Early they join, early should they retire. What is the fuss about this? They have not fought conventional war since 1971. We must not forget that Kargil was their own creation. If they are serving the nation with devotion so are others. Patriotism cannot be patented by one service. The writer of this post is as patriotic as any one else, so are rest of the countrymen.

Service to nation cannot be quantified as more and less. The bullet coming from unknown direction do not identify the target. Civilians dying along the borders or any where in side the country, due to hostile fire of the enemy are also patriotic countrymen. Over the period of time the Golf playing fraternity has assumed that no one is more patriotic than them. This is absurd argument . it is preposterous to have such assumptions. Assumptions are the mother of confusion.

Recently authentic figures have emerged. Against the sacrifice of 22500 defence personnel, the CPMFs have sacrificed 31798 personnel on the line of duty since independence. So who is more patriotic? In the backdrop of utter neglect by MHA, no pension to CPMF soldiers after 2004, no PSMP on the line of defence Forces, service conditions are more hazardous than Army, area of operation except LC/LOC is much ahead than Army, no reservation in jobs, no martyrs status, no dedicated post retirement medical and canteen facility, treated as civilian employees despite 24×7 duties away from home, huge stagnation in every rank, conscious and deliberate denial by the government for the minimum entitlement of CPMFs soldiers, and no public awareness about the onerous tasks being performed by CPMFs along borders, disturbed areas of J n K, red corridors of the country and insurgency prone NE region. Who is taking care of internal security? Who is managing disasters? Who is guarding VVIPs and vital installations of the country? Which forces constitutes the first line of defence on the borders? The answer is none other than CPMFs.

Can any one dispute the above facts? Yes it will be disputed by those who are either getting OROP or who are agitating to get OROP. In the real sense, keeping in view the degree of difficulties, stress of being less privileged, absence of an effective platform for taking the legitimate issues of CPMFs, indifferent attitude of political masters, utter neglecting approach by bureaucracy and unsympathetic concerns of successive pay commissions, we the CPMFs qualifies for OROP more than any one else.

Let us raise these issues and make our voice loud with strong logic. There is no reason for us to sympathise with ex servicemen as they consider CPMFs their adversary not an extended branch of country’s defence system. ( the writer of this post has huge respect for the defence forces of the country ). For these sour apples, onion is of no worth. They forget that apple is a seasonal fruit where as onion is forever. We need onion everyday so do the country need CPMFs everyday. Apple gets attention of the market once a year. For the countrymen, onion is more important than apple due to versatility of onion. I hope these senior Army Officers will no more use such terms like Onion for CPMFs and call themselves apple in future. CPMFs always support the cause and concerns of defence Forces but officers of defence forces publicly not only criticise CPMFs but also question their existence. This is condemnable in all forms. The CPMFs have a collective strength of 9 lakh serving and 6 lakh retired personnel. Defence Forces must stop taking them lightly in professional fields. Internal problems of the country are being taken care of by CPMFs with the help of local police. Be it Dinapur incident of Gurdaspur with Punhab police or Udhampur incident with BSF, the reliance on Army had been reduced to naught. It is better that Army must stop clamouring in media that they are every where. Their arrogance has been effectively checked and now there is more reliance on CPMFs due to their flexible, professional and humane approach. Sooner or later, the government will realise the contribution of CPMFs. The CPMFs soldiers deserve respect and recognition. Their claim for OROP is more stronger than any one else in the prevailing unpredictable and volatile security scenario of the country. During external aggression( which may not take place in future unless forced by own foolhardiness) CPMFs would extend unequivocal support to Defence Forces to fight the enemy. The defence forces must learn to respect other profession. They are in defence forces by choice, no one has forced them ( do we have conscription in our country? No) so are others. Mutual trust and faith would strengthen national security. Let truth alone Prevail. Satyamev jayte. Jai Hind
