Story of Lord Krishna Birth
Lord Krishna is one of the most revered deities in Hinduism and is considered to be the eighth avatar (incarnation) of Lord Vishnu. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Krishna was born to Devaki and Vasudeva in Mathura, a city in Uttar Pradesh. His birth was prophesied to bring an end to the evil king Kansa, who was Devaki’s brother and had imprisoned her and her husband. To protect Lord Krishna from Kansa, Vasudeva took him across the river Yamuna to Gokul, where he was raised by his foster parents, Nanda and Yashoda.
Lord Krishna is known for his teachings on dharma (righteousness), karma (action), and bhakti (devotion). He is also associated with love, compassion, and the destruction of evil forces. His life and teachings are depicted in the ancient Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad Gita.
