FDI in Railways – Railway Minister assured that whatsoever decisions will be taken, prior consultation will be done and the goal will be betterment of the Railways and its workers.
He mentioned that he is aware of AIRF’s strength and its fighting character. He expressed his desire that let us jointly work for enriching the prevailing peace with prosperity on Indian Railways in the days ahead. Hon’ble MR was accompanied with MoSR and CRB also during the meeting.

Sub: Feedback of the meeting held today with new Minister for Railways, Shri Suresh Prabhu
After taking over the charge of new Minister for Railways by Shri Suresh Prabhu, the undersigned and Com. President Shri Rakhal Das Gupta, met him in Rail Bhawan in the evening. While welcoming him as Minister for Railways, we congratulated and mentioned about the fear arising in the minds of thousands of Railwaymen because of government’s initiative for FDI in the Railways. Hon’ble MR assured that nothing will be finalized unless federation is taken into confidence.
He further assured that whatsoever decisions will be taken, prior consultation will be done and the goal will be betterment of the Railways and its workers. On our concern towards various other long pending demands of the Railwaymen, Hon’ble MR assured that that, shortly he will discuss various issues in detail.
