What is election paid holiday in India?
India has long been known for its vibrant democracy and the importance it places on its citizens participating in the electoral process. To ensure that everyone is able to exercise their right to vote, the Indian government has declared a paid holiday on poll day. This paid holiday gives employees across India ample time to travel to their local polling station and cast their ballots without having to worry about taking off from work or attending classes. The Election Holiday also allows voters enough time to research candidates running in their district, so they can make an informed decision when going into the voting booth. Allowing people this extra time encourages voter participation and strengthens our nation’s democratic foundations.
