An important factor for calculating Dearness Allowance for Central govt employees and pensioners, the AICPIN (All India Consumer Price Index) for the month of May 2020 has been published yesterday by the Department of Labour Bureau.
Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers Base Year 2001=100
The new series of Consumer Price Index Numbers for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) with base 2001=100 introduced from January 2006. The index is the major factor for calculating Dearness Allowance for CG Staff and Officers.
Yesterday, the Labour Bureau published a new press release of AICPIN for the month of May 2020 and the index increased only one point at stood at 330 level.
Calculation of DA July 2020
The calculation of DA from July 2020 is almost over! There is no possibility to increase the percentage of Dearness Allowance above 24%!
Even if the AICPIN for the month of June 2020 will be increased to 334 from the existing level 330, the DA percentage will finish at 24% only!
