CGEGIS Subscription Rates After 7th Pay Commission for Group A, B, and C
The Cabinet did not accept the Seventh Central Pay Commission’s recommendation to significantly increase the monthly contribution to CGEGIS.
The 7th Central Pay Commission proposed higher rates for the Central Government Employees Group Insurance Scheme (CGEGIS). According to the recommendation, Pay Matrix Level 10 employees needed to contribute Rs.5000 monthly along with an insurance amount of Rs.50,00,000. For those in Pay Matrix Levels 6 to 9, CGEGIS monthly deduction was Rs.5000 and the insurance amount was Rs.25,00,000. Pay Matrix Level 1 to 5 employees were to contribute Rs.5000 monthly and an insurance amount of Rs.15,00,000.
However, the Union Cabinet decided not to accept the recommendation, thus avoiding the financial burden on the Government.
