This calendar is circulated via an official memorandum from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), delineating Gazetted Holidays and Restricted Holidays separately. The primary list includes 14 mandatory holidays, while the supplementary list permits individuals to choose three holidays from the compulsory ones, resulting in a total of 17 days of leave. These 17 days constitute the Gazetted Holidays accorded to Central government staff members.

Restricted Holidays List 2025

In 2025, the Central Government Office has designated a set of holidays known as Restricted Holidays. These holidays provide employees with the option to select two days off according to their individual choices.
