Surrogacy Leave Policy

The Surrogacy Leave Policy is a significant benefit for female employees in Central Government organizations. The advancement of medical science has made surrogate pregnancies a popular option for childless couples. However, it is crucial to determine whether female employees who choose to have babies through surrogate mothers can claim maternity leave. As of now, women employees of Central Government establishments are granted 180 days of maternity leave, whereas male employees are given 15 days of paternity leave if they adopt a baby. Nevertheless, there are currently no leave entitlements for parents of surrogate children. It is essential to evaluate the Surrogacy Leave Policy and address the concerns of female employees who opt for surrogate pregnancies. The Indian Medical Research Council can provide valuable insights into this matter. Ultimately, as parenthood is regarded as a gift of god, it is vital to ensure that all employees are treated equitably and provided with necessary benefits and support during their journey towards parenthood – Click to read more
