Categories of Allowances Reported by 7th Central Pay Commission
The entire range of allowances is administered in broadly four ways:
- Fully DA-indexed–Allowances – e.g. Transport Allowance
- Partially or Semi DA-indexed–Allowances – e.g. Field Area Allowance, Siachen Allowance.
- No DA-indexation–Allowances – e.g. Reward for Meritorious Service.
- Percentage based–Allowances – e.g. House Rent Allowance
