AICPIN for December 2022 Press Release
The Labour Bureau, an office affiliated with the Ministry of Labour & Employment, compiles the Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers every month based on retail prices collected from 317 markets in 88 industrial centers throughout the country. The index is compiled for both 88 centres and All-India and is released on the last working day of the subsequent month. The All-India CPI-IW for December 2022 declined by 0.2 points, settling at 132.3 points. Compared to the previous month, the one-month percentage change decreased by 0.15%, which is less than the drop of 0.24% between the corresponding months from the preceding year.

Expected DA from Jan 2023 Calculation Status: The All India Consumer Price Index Number (AICPIN) for December 2022 is an important factor in calculating the final salary of employees. AICPIN is a measure of the average change in prices of goods and services consumed by households across India. It is released by the Ministry of Labour and Employment every month. DA is a cost-of-living adjustment allowance that is given to employees to help them cope with inflation. On the last day of January 2022, the Labour Bureau will reveal the grand finale of AICPIN data for December. The Expected Dearness Allowance from January 2023 prediction will be over on 31.1.2023. The Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers Base Year 2016-100 is increased by 1.1 points from the existing level and stands at 131.3.
