Sub :- Regarding ongoing online engagement process of all categories of GDS : Guard against fake phone calls/fake messages.
Instances have been reported to this Directorate by the members of public wherein unscrupulous phone calls made SMS sent to the candidates asking money for favoring. The matter has been examined and it has been decided to take following action on urgent basis to guard against such activities:-

i Action to be taken by Circles:-
(a) to give wide publicity to alert the candidates against such unscrupulous phone callsr SMS and any other such activities.
ii Action to be taken by CEPT, Hyderabad :-
(a) to display a disclaimer in the GDS online engagement website stating that:-
“Department of Posts does not make any phone calls SMS to the candidates for depositing any money. Selected candidate is getting system generated SMS only for his selection. The correspondence, if any, is made with candidates through respective Recruiting Authority only. Candidates are advised not to disclose their registration number and mobile numbers and be guarded against any unscrupulous phone calls.
(b) to alert the candidate by inserting the following message in the SMS sent the candidates:-
“Department of Posts does not make phone calls for any purpose. Be guarded against any unscrupulous phone calls.”
2. Action taken report may be sent to this office by e mail.
