CGHS Credit Facility Hospitals
Central Government Employees are usually granted medical care through CGHS empanelled hospitals, where they are required to pay their hospital bill in full prior to being discharged. After being discharged, they may request reimbursement of the bill amount through the CGHS reimbursement method.
No Credit Facility for Serving Employees
If you are a Central Government pensioner, you can now avail of cashless treatment in CGHS empanelled hospitals. This means that in case of indoor treatment, you (and other entitled categories of beneficiaries) will be provided with a credit facility by the CGHS, which will cover all the expenses incurred during your stay at the hospital. This new policy is a big relief for all the pensioners who were facing difficulty in paying for their medical expenses, and it ensures that they receive the best possible healthcare without any financial burden.
Credit Facility for CGHS Employees
The Additional Director of CGHS directed through a office letter dated 22.6.2020 to all empanelled hospitals and diagnostic centres shall provide treatment or investigation to the serving employees of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOH&FW), Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) and the Department of General of Health Services (Dte.) and their family members covered under CGHS on credit basis of advice from CGHS.
Valid Permission Letter for CGHS
In the case where specific employees and their family members require confidential or unlisted treatment or investigation procedures, the empanelled Health Care Organizations (HCOs) are obligated to provide these services on a credit basis. This means that the employees or their family members will not be required to pay upfront for the services provided, but rather the costs will be covered by the company. This ensures that all employees receive the necessary medical attention they require without financial burden.
Furthermore, the empanelled Health Care Organizations (HCOs) shall continue to provide immediate medical attention to all Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) beneficiaries on a credit basis under unforeseeable and urgent medical situations. This means that the HCOs are obliged to provide treatment to the beneficiaries without making them pay upfront, ensuring that they receive proper medical care in times of emergency.
