Oct-23 AICPIN Increased 0.9 Points
Following the publication of the All India Consumer Price Index (CPI-IW BY-2016) for the month of October 2023, the ssubsequent stage of calculating Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) was put into effect in accordance with the recommendations made by the 7th Pay Commission. Based on the inflation data, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) has risen by 0.9 points compared to the previous level, reaching a value of 138.4. This increase reinforces the belief that the Dearness Allowance (DA) is likely to reach a milestone of 50% by January 2024.

AICPIN Trends in Nov & Dec 23
The AICPIN trends observed in November and December 2023 are anticipated to show a positive trajectory. It is hoped that the Consumer Price Index will remain at or exceed 138 in the coming months. Even a slight increase in the AICPIN points above 138 will undoubtedly result in the Dearness Allowance surpassing the 50% mark.
