Calculation of DA from Jan 2020 Step by Step
Step 1 (July 2019): AICPIN (CPI for Industrial Workers Base Year 2001=100) for the month of July 2019 released by the Labour Bureau. The index is increase by 3 points and stands at 319. As per the calculation recommended by 7th pay commission, the percentage of DA will increase to 17.66.
Step 2 (August 2019): One point increased in August, the CPI (IW) took shelter at 320. End of the August 2019, the DA percent is 18.27.
Step 3 (September 2019): Again the index is hiked by two points from the existing level of 320. After fixing the CPI (IW) at 322, the DA/DR percent is increased to 18.94 as per the prescribed calculation formula.
Step 4 (October 2019): The AICPIN (CPI IW BY 2001=100) will be released on 29.11.2019.
Step 5 (November 2019): The AICPIN (CPI IW BY 2001=100) will be released on 31.12.2019.
Step 6 (December 2019): The AICPIN (CPI IW BY 2001=100) will be released on 31.01.2020.

To finalize the percentage of DA from Jan 2020, we need 6 months of AICPIN data from July 2019 to December 2019.
Labour Bureau is being released the statistics of AICPIN every month on last working day. So, we will receive the last month data for December 2019 in 31st, January 2020.
