SAG Rank IOFS Officers Eligible for Staff Car/ Higher Rate of Transport Allowance
The Indian Ordnance Factory Service (IOFS) officers of the Senior Administrative Grade (SAG) rank are now eligible to receive a staff car or a higher rate of transport allowance, as per the recent orders issued by the Principal Controller of Accounts, Factories (PCAFys). This measure aims to provide better facilities to officers, who play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the Indian Ordnance Factories. The PCAFys has taken this decision after careful consideration of the demands and requirements of the officers, and this move is expected to improve their work efficiency and overall performance.

Please refer to this office letter of even no dated 22/02/2019 regarding admissibility / inadmissibility Of usage Of Staff Car / Higher Rate Of Transport Allowance in lieu of Staff Car by SAG and above IOFS officers drawing grade pay of Rs. 10000/ pay in pay level 14 and above.
In this connection, please find enclosed a copy Of CGDA Offce letter dated
25/04/2019 and Min of Defence ID No : (EsWGaz) dated 0804.2019 wherein it has finally been clarified that Officers Of IOFS cadre who are in the functional SAG level (not by means Of NFU) notwithstanding the fact that they are not HODS, are entitled to official car or higher rate of Transport Allowance in lieu of the official car as the case may be.
Therefore, all are requested to deal with the matter accordingly.

SAG (Senior Administrative Grade) is a rank in IOFS (Indian Ordnance Factories Service) and officers with total 13 years of service in Group A and Group B are eligible for SAG rank.
Yes, IOFS officers can choose between a staff car or higher rate of transport allowance. However, once the choice has been made, it cannot be changed for at least three years.
The higher rate of transport allowance for SAG rank IOFS officers is calculated as 75% of the basic pay plus dearness allowance.
