Bonus for ASHA workers in West Bengal – Orders issued
The West Bengal Government declared Rs. 2000 as ex-gratia festival bonus for the year 2020 to all ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) workers.

MEMORANDUM
The Governor is hereby pleased to accord approval and sanction an amount of Rs. 2000/- (Rupees Two Thousand) only per ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) as ex-gratia festival bonus for the year 2020.
1. The charge is debitable to the Head “24-HF-2211- Family Welfare-00-101-Rural Family Welfare Services-004-Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) Scheme-31-Grants-in-Aid-02-Others Grants” under the major and minor head in the current year budget.
2. This ex-gratia festival bonus will be applicable for all in-position ASHAs who have started working in the field on or before 1st December, 2019 after completion of first round of 6th & 7th module training (as per sub clause (v) of clause 2 of F.Ds.Order No. 1722-F(P2), dated. 13.05.2020)
3. This order issues with concurrence of the Finance Department, Govt. of West Bengal vide U.O.No. – Group P2/2020-2021/0326. Dated 15.09.2020.
4. Necessary fund will be released in due course.

Sub: Payment of bonus to contractual staff provided by existing agencies for security, scavenging, cleaning & housekeeping etc.
Sir, I’m directed to refer to the subject mentioned above and to say that –
i. As per the Tender Document, 2014, 2017, 2018 for engagement of contractual staff in hospital across State, payment of bonus to such staff shall be made by the agency that deploys them and reimbursement of the same shall be done by the agency that deploys them and reimbursement of the same shall be done by the concerned hospital on submission of documentary evidence of the actual payment made.
ii. “The reimbursement of the same should be made from existing Head of Account from where monthly remunerations of the staff is paid.
iii. All payment of bonus should be made @ 8.33% of the salary or wage earned by the employee / staff during the accounting year and once in a year before commencement of Durga Puja / Id.
iv. Bonus is to be provided to all employee who have worked not less than 30 (thirty) days during the year ended on 31st March.
v. Employees are entitled to arrear bonus, if due.
These are general in nature and applicable to all the Government health facilities in the State. You are, thus, requested to take necessary actions in this regard.
