SSC CHSL Exam 2024 Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for various roles in the SSC CHSL Exam 2024, candidates must meet specific educational criteria by August 1, 2024. For positions such as Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) and Data Entry Operator (DEO)/DEO Grade ‘A’ (excluding certain Departments/Ministries), a successful completion of the 12th Standard or its equivalent from a recognized Board or University is required. Moreover, candidates aiming for Data Entry Operator (DEOs)/DEO Grade ‘A’ roles in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution and the Ministry of Culture must have passed the 12th Standard in the Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or its equivalent.

Applicants interested in these positions must fall within the age bracket of 18 to 27 years, meaning they should have been born between 02-08-1997 and 01-08-2006 to be considered eligible. Furthermore, there are provisions for age relaxation beyond the upper age limit in accordance with the prevailing rules and regulations.

  • Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) receives a basic pay of Rs. 19,900 in Pay Matrix Level-2, with a total salary of Rs. 37,845 in metro cities.
  • Data Entry Operator (DEO) is in Pay Matrix Level-5, with a basic pay of Rs. 29,200 and a total salary of Rs. 57,960 in metro cities.
  • Data Entry Operator, Grade A, falls in Pay Matrix Level-4, with a basic pay of Rs. 25,500 and a total salary of Rs. 51,300 in metro cities.
