Shri Arun Jaitley,
Hon’ble Finance Minister,
Govt of India,
North Block,
New Delhi

Sub: Setting up of a high level committee to review the Minimum Wage Multiplication Factor
Ref: Our letter of even No. dated 26.7.2016.

Dear Sir,

We solicit your kind reference to the discussion, the representatives of NJCA had with you in the presence of the Honourable Home Minister, Shri Rajnath Singh and the Railway Minister, Shri Suresh Prabhu and the MOS (R) Shri Manoj Sinha on 30th June, 2016.

We were expecting a quick action on the part of the Government to operationalise the assurance of setting up a high level Committee 10 go into the Minimum wage, Multiplication factor etc. However, we are disappointed that even after a lapse of more than a month no order has been issued by the Government in this regard.

The employees, as you are aware, were angry over the arbitrary determination of the minimum wage by the 7th CPC by mutilating the Dr. Aykhroyd formula and also the propornate multiplication factor.

We, therefore, appeal to you that the concerned authorities may be asked to expedite the issuance of orders setting up the committee and finalization of the Report within the available time of remaining three months.

Thanking you,

Yours faithfully,
(Shiva Gopal Mishra)
Secretary

The Recommendations of 7th CPC are very unscientific, baseless and with out any common sense. One simple example is Rs.5000 to 6000 difference in gross pay of 2 promotees with same pay promoted in Dec 2015 and the other in Jan 2016. The later case is getting less. Hats off to the committee.

    Minimum wages Rs 18000/ only
While world bank poverty line is $1.9/day per head

    And In an Indian family
    Father mother
    Husaband wife and two children

Total six member in a family

    1$=67 Rupees
    Total 30 days a month

    Now calculate mathematics

    6*1.9*30*67=20502
Rs 20502 required to reach above poverty line decided by world bank.

Government employees will remain below poverty line.

It is requested that the medical allowance of Rs500/- should be increased to a level of Rs.1500/- pm. minimum. I did not claim any hospital facilities, only Rs.500/-pm medical allowance is given which is very small amount as a medical help for a family in this time. Rs500/- is the one time fee in Apolo hospital.
    Thanks.
