We are the first to introduce a calculator for converting the basic salary from 6th CPC to 7th CPC. The 7th pay commission recommendations had been accepted by the Government of India in the middle of 2016 and implemented the same with effect from 1.1.2016 with minor modifications. Every Central Government employee wanted to know the increase in salary and allowances. We created a simple online tool with the input option of an individual and calculate the revised or new salary and allowances as per the methodology prescribed by the 7th pay commission.

The panel of the 7th CPC has submitted its report to the Finance Minister on 19th November 2015. After this occasion only, the word ‘Pay Matrix Table‘ is introduced and talking about across the country amongst Central Government employees and Pensioners till now. As per the 7th CPC Report, the total number of Central Government employees in position as on 1.1.2014 is 33,01,536 [91,501 Group ‘A’ Officers, 2,80,892 Group ‘B’ Officers and 29,29,143 Group ‘C’ employees].

The 7th CPC recommended a new pay fixation method is entirely different from 6th CPC and also recommended 2.57 fitment factor commonly for all groups of CG employees. Instead of a salary slab system, the commission suggested a new Pay Matrix System. Revision of pay and arrears effective from 1.1.2016.

How to calculate the 7th CPC revised pay scale?
The method of conversion of pay scale from 6th CPC to 7th CPC is given below in detail as per the recommendation of the 7th pay commission.
- Step 1: Check your basic pay (including grade pay) as on 31.12.2015
- Step 2: Multiplication by a Fitment factor of 2.57
- Step 3: Rounded off to the nearest rupee
- Step 4: Go to Matrix Pay Table and select the Level corresponding to Grade Pay
- Step 5: Select equal or next higher Pay in the corresponding Matrix Level
How to use this calculator
First, select your Pay Band and Grade Pay and enter your Basic Pay (as on 31.12.2015 including Grade Pay) and if you are eligible, select NPA otherwise leave it and click the Calculate button. The calculator will show your revised basic pay calculation detail as on 1.1.2016 with the pay matrix table.

How can I fix my salary in the 7th Pay Commission?
- Your salary should be fixed on the methodology approved by the Central Govt as per the recommendations of the 7th pay commission. 2.57 is the common fitment factor for all groups of Central Govt employees. Your basic salary as on 31.12.2015 with multiply 2.57 and the figure will match in the pay matrix of your entitled pay level.
What is the pay matrix?
- A simple number table recommended by the 7th Pay Commission having 760 cells is named ‘Pay Matrix Table’. A single fitment table is applicable to over 30 lakh Central Govt Employees. The table shows 760 (19 x 40) cells with 19 columns in a horizontal position and 40 rows in the vertical position.
